A workshop for Alexander Technique teachers (and 9 term students) who are not familiar with saddle work.
For between 4 and 8 people.
Saddle work on a wooden horse was first developed in the 1950s, and was used by Walter Carrington who continued to use and teach saddle work. It is used to free up legs, hip joints and the lower back. The workshop will give a short introduction to the concepts behind saddle work followed by practical work. Each participants will receive some 15-20 minutes work on the wooden horse and saddle (with Jean and Alison), followed by 15 minutes on the riding simulator (with Vicky).
Jean trained 1984-87 with Karen Wentworth, Alison 1987-90 with Walter Carrington, and both use saddle work in their private practice as well as teaching it on training courses. Vicky qualified as Alexander teacher in 2008 and is working as a riding instructor as well, using a riding simulator in her practice too.
